I know, pet insurance is not the sexiest thing on the planet, but seeing my instagram feed fill up with new puppies for the holidays, I thought I would give my 2 cents on why it is so important that you get pet insurance even before you bring that new buddy home for the holidays!
We got Dexter the week before Christmas 6 whole years ago. It seems like just yesterday! Our vet, who is so so so amazing, on the first visit, suggested we get pet insurance. Like even before he began the exam. He recommended Trupanion so we went with it.
From the beginning, it was so easy to use. Over the last 6 years, it has become even easier. You can pay out of pocket, send in the receipt and get reimburse a few days later OR you can have the vet submit the receipt on the spot. LIke I said, so so so easy.
We have had mostly everything covered and saved thousands of dollars over the last 6 years. Dex has really bad allergies and has to get shots at least every two months so right there we save hundreds of dollars.
Thank goodness nothing too bad has happened to our little guy but Trupanion has been there for us the entire time. Highly recommend!
