It would not be thanksgiving at my house if we didn’t have DEFCON potatoes. They are literally the most amazing potatoes you will ever eat and there is never any left over for that post turkey dinner 4th meal. Pro tip: make another one for the next day because trust me, you WILL be craving them for par deaux.
Ingredients
2 lbs frozen hash brown potatoes
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pt sour cream
1/4 lb butter
2 pkg grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 c chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Topping:
2 cups crushed corn flakes
1/2 c melted butter
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Defrost potatoes. Combine first 8 ingredients and spread in a rectangular glass casserole pan. Sprinkle topping and bake at 350F for 50 minutes.
Pro Tip: I add cheese into that topping. You can’t go wrong with more cheese. Also, I have never done it but I heard it can be done…ADD BACON. I mean come on..
